The Stable, Belle Grove Barns Westhall, Suffolk
There’s a quirky charm to these five self-catering barns on a Suffolk farm. Rather than converting an existing building, owners Jo and Nick Jordan razed the farm to the ground and rebuilt it with reclaimed and local materials. The barns ooze character, with heavily timbered interiors, stone fireplaces, underfloor heating and lush rugs. Our favourite is the Stable — a one-bed boudoir with a music-box feel. There are plenty of eco touches, such as rainwater harvesting and solar energy, while gadget geeks will love the array of technology, including the Bose music system, free wi-fi and huge TV.
Details: Seven nights’ self-catering in the Stable is from £555 for two
