Finding us

Only a 2 1/2 hour drive from London, Belle Grove is in the heart of the Suffolk countryside, on the fringe of the village of Westhall , 2 miles north of the unspoilt market town of Halesworth and 7 miles inland from exquisite Southwold (where a Beach Hut is available for hire).

The address is Belle Grove Farm, Lower Common, Westhall, Halesworth, Suffolk IP19 8QU.

Within easy reach of the many historic towns and villages of Suffolk and south Norfolk, Belle Grove is only a few miles from the Suffolk Heritage Coast with fine opportunities for walking, bird-watching and fresh-fish bought straight off the boats.  The City of Norwich and its castle is less than 45 minutes away.  See Around & About.

Belle Grove itself is located about one mile off the A144, the main Halesworth - Norwich road and is set several hundred yards back from the minor road through to Westhall.   There's little traffic noise although expect agricultural machinery to operate in the vicinity occasionally. Local trains trundle past every two hours (and not throughout the night) on a nearby heavily wooded embankment. (The maximum speed of 30mph making a somewhat old-fashioned, even pleasing, rumbling sound)!  Ipswich or Lowestoft can be accessed via the nearest unmanned halts at Brampton and Halesworth.

In case you use Google Earth, be aware that the satellite image dates from August 2007 and the building work that shows up is the conversion work of the Barns, now completed of course. The airstrips set in the farmland to the south were last used for flying by the USAAF in World War II !

The most direct routes are:

From the South & East - A12 / A144

From the North – B1332 / A144

From the West – A143/ A144 or B1123
